Want to attract wildlife to your backyard but don’t know how to go about it? On February 10, the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection’s Biodiversity Task Force, in partnership with the Piedmont Environmental Council, is bringing together more than a dozen government and nongovernmental organizations at its Wildlife Habitat Open House. Learn about programs that offer education, onsite help, and even funding for habitat management. After a brief presentation at 10 a.m, you can visit with the representatives of the participating conservation organizations—check out displays, pick up literature and contact information, and ask questions. The open house, which is free and requires no reservations, will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Schoolhouse in Sperryville, at 12018 Lee Hwy (junction of Rt. 211 and Rt. 522). RLEP will provide complimentary light refreshments. For more information and updates, go to www.RLEP.org or contact Pam Owen at 540-675-9989 or Biodiversity@RLEP.org.
