Some thoughts on the sheriff’s race, our poll, and how no-contest elections become meaningless

The RappVoice poll on the three-way race for sheriff points toward a very competitive contest and high public interest. But why are the pending elections for Board of Supervisors and the School Board largely meaningless, and what are the costs and consequences of elections that offer voters no choices?
