Powerline Awareness Festival

The public is invited to the Powerline Awareness Festival taking place on October 20 from 2 until dark at The Jordan River Farm. The purpose is to raise awareness of powerline issues and have a good time. Del. Todd Gilbert, 15th District Representative, will speak and give a check to the Powerline Landowner’s Alliance. Brad Schneider, alternative energy expert, will also speak about his gasification process. There will be live music by Blind Owl Band, Smiggy and Friends Offstarr Band, Mechanism and Dontez Harris. The PA system will be powered by solar power provided by Sandos Energy of Leesburg, and bio-diesel by RASP Technologies of Madison, VA. Tailgating is encouraged and sandwiches from Rae’s Place and hamburgers from Harmany Highlands will be available for sale. There will be a “light walk” under the powerlines with flourescent bulbs and an aircraft available for reporters for a flyover. Admission is $5 per person. For further information, contact C.
