According to State reports for the 2006-07 school year (most recent available) RCPS ranked:
# 1 in the State for fewest dropouts (none) in 2006-07
# 9 in the State for percent of 2007 graduates continuing their education (88.51%);
# 3 in the State for number of 2007 graduates as a percent of 9th grade membership four years earlier (98.8%).
RappB& (Rapp Band) Gets Early Start: New RCHS Band Director David DeBoer has issued this schedule for summer band activities for students in grades 8-12:
Fundamentals camp:
July 29 4pm-8pm
July 30 4pm-11pm (Drum Corps International Show at Fauquier HS)
July 31 4pm-8pm
Band Camp:
August 11-15 9am-5pm
August 18-22 9am-5pm
Friday August 22 5pm-7:30pm - End of Camp cookout and show preview for parents

Updates to Summer Athletic Practices:
· Varsity Football team practices begin Friday, August 1st from 7:00 to 10:00 AM.
· The “Junior High” Football team (grades 7, 8, & 9) should report to get equipment on Friday, August 1st at 5:30 PM. The “Junior High” Football team practices will begin on Monday August 4th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
· The Cross Country team will start practice Friday, Aug. 1, at 4:00 PM.
· The JV and Varsity Volleyball teams will hold first practices at 9:00 AM at the Auxiliary Gym behind RCES on Monday Aug. 4.
· The Golf team will meet at RCHS Aug. 4 at 4:30.
· Jr. Panther Volleyball practices will start Aug. 11, 5:30-7:00 at the Aux. Gym)
· Jr. Panther Soccer (Boys) practices will start Aug 18, 4:30-6:00, at the Soccer field behind RCES)
Notes:
1. Start date for JP Volleyball team and JP Soccer team (boys) practices is TBA.
2. To participate in athletics students must have a physical exam on a form available at the RCHS office.
3. The football and basketball programs are hosting preliminary “open practices” during July. To find out schedule for these practices click on http://rappahannock.va.schoolwebpages.com, then click on “Panther Athletics.”

20th – Bus Drivers Meeting 5:00 PM; Kindergarten Orientation 6:30 PM; 8th Grade Orientation 7:00 PM
21st - Meet the Teacher Night 2:00-5:00 and 6:00 - 8:00
25th - First Day of School; Office hours on days school is in session: SBO 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM; School Offices 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
