SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 14 at 2:30 p.m. by William Shakespeare
A tale of conspiracy and betrayal, of royalty and treachery, of romance and conquests, and of tennis balls. This dynamic and dramatic production questions where heroism ends and immorality begins. Annual production by a touring cast of students from Cambridge University. Cambridge University American Stage Tour (CAST) has toured America since 1999.
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 20 at 8 p.m. FROM BLUES TO BOSSA
Chuck Redd, vibraphone , and Bill Harris, piano
An intimate evening of jazz with two of the Theatre’s most popular jazz musicians, Bill Harris and Chuck Redd. The music will include classics from the jazz/standards canon and the music of Brazilian masters Antonio Carlos Jobim and Ivan Lins.
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 28 at 3 p.m. FOLK MUSIC FROM RUSSIA
Washington Balalaika Society Orchestra
Russian and Eastern European music performed by the Washington Balalaika Society Orchestra. Balalaikas, domra and bayons (accordions) with Russian folk percussion and wind instruments. Conductor and artistic director Svetlana Nikonova is a graduate of the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory in St. Petersburg, Russia. She was a member of the renowned Andreyev Balalaika Orchestra.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 11 at 8 p.m. MUSIC OF HANDEL, RACHMANINOV, CHOPIN AND BARBER
Katarzyna Marzec-Salwinski, piano
Polish concert pianist Katarzyna Marzec-Salwinski will play the Suite No. 8 in F Minor by George Frideric Handel (1685-1759); Preludes from Op. 23 by Sergei Rachmaninov (1873-1943); Ballade in F Minor, Op. 52 by Frédéric Chopin (1810-1849); and Sonata for Piano by Samuel Barber (1910-1981).
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 18 at 8 p.m. CELTIC MUSIC
Linn Barnes and Allison Hampton
Celtic music played on authentic instruments: guitar, uilleann pipes, lutes and Celtic harp. Following a recent expedition to western Ireland, Linn and Allison bring back musical gems in the form of ancient slow airs, spritely jigs and reels, and stately marches.

Smithsonian at Little Washington: Seventeenth Season
First of four concerts presenting the 12 Bach Sonatas with obbligato harpsichord for flute, violin, and viola da gamba. The flute sonatas at this concert will be played by Christopher Krueger, widely recognized as one of America’s leading exponents of the baroque flute, with the Smithsonian Chamber Music Society’s artistic director, Kenneth Slowik, at the harpsichord.
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 1 at 8 p.m. CHUCK REDD & THE STATESMEN OF JAZZ
Chuck Redd will play vibes with the Statesmen of Jazz, featuring Houston Person on saxophone, Mickey Roker on drums, Bob Cranshaw on bass and Tamir Hendelman at the piano.
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 15 at 8 p.m. BEN “COOTER” JONES
Ben “Cooter” Jones returns to the Theatre for an evening of stories and music.
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 23 at 3 p.m. BRILLIANCE OF THE BAROQUE
Smithsonian at Little Washington: Seventeenth Season
The second concert in the Smithsonian season includes sonatas by Johann Sebastian Bach for viola da gamba and harpsichord. Evelyn Elsing, cello and viola da gamba, was principal cellist of the Handel Festival Orchestra, prizewinner in the Munich Cello Competition and finalist in the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. Kenneth Slowik anchors the series “with obbligato keyboard.”
