Junior Panthers run their way into history books with VMSC Conference championship in cross country

In Front Royal, by the river at Riverfront Christian Academy, home of the Valley Middle School Conference Championship for cross country, the young Rappahannock Junior Panther team ran its way into the record books.

The team’s first year in competition saw them as regular season champions as well as VMSC champions. The team ran a perfect meet with runners placing 1st, 2nd & 3rd for a total of 6 points.

In Middle School Cross Country, the first 3 runners from each team are counted, according to their place at the end of the race, and the lowest score wins! Amrit Tamang placed 1st, followed closely by Seth Wayland in 2nd, and Danny Collins was just seconds behind for 3rd.

It was a successful season for the team and several of the members are also playing soccer. The boys came home with 2 huge trophies that will be displayed in the Lobby at RCES. Congratulations to the team and Coach Dave Gillis on a great season!
